The Elementary Requirements for Admission into The Basic General Nursing Training Program
- Applicants should be above 17 years and not more than 26 years
- The program plans for at least three years
- A minimum of five credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry & Biology in their O’level examinations, which should not be more than two Sitting.
- Unmarried women who become pregnant or commit an abortion during their training would be dismissed from their current program.
Admission Requirements into the Post Basic Nursing Midwifery Programme
Those who wish to apply for the Post Basic Nursing program must have the following:-
- Five credit passes in SSCE, WASSCE/NECO, or GCE including English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology at not more than two sittings.
- The Candidate must be a Registered Nurse (RN) under the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria.
- Students who become pregnant during their training are allowed to continue the program and are allowed to take study leaves, have their baby, and resume studies thereafter. However, the rules stipulated by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria hold that students who are absent from class for twenty-one (21) days or more, are stepped down to a lower class.
